I really liked the part where the reverend wishes that the Infected were the living dead instead of just sick people, since a supernatural cause of Infection would open the door for the existence of God.
If I was a man of faith, I can imagine that a situation like Infection would shake that faith, and I thought DiLouie did a good job of describing that kind of conflict in the character of the Reverend.
And even after I figured out that the character was black, I still couldn't get the image of this guy out of my head.
May the road gangs never meet you. May the wind be fallout-free. May the sun shine through the ashes, hot rain not fall on thee. And until we meet again, may no one hold your flesh in the palm of their hand.

You know I was picturing him as a bit like Dale too. I was kind of annoyed that there was no mention of description and I'm just picturing the survivors (even when Anne met him we got a vague description) then suddenly it, and it honestly felt like it was just for show, he's called a racial slur that turns him Black and confuses how he's pictured among the cast.
I liked him but I felt his chapters were a bit too flowery. He made sense as a person but after part 2 I just didn't want to hear his meta-philosophical dabble.
