Okay PAF. Be honest. If the apocalypse were to happen, would you be the "good guy" "road warrior" who helps people in need, kills only when your life is threatened, try to rebuild justice? Or would you be a killing and looting raider? I want you to closely inspect and contemplate the question. Cause option #1 might end up with you getting shot in the back. Don't act like its such a crime in an end world. Cause honestly I'd do what I have to do to survive. Even if that means canabolism. That's right, canabolism. Hey. maybe that's just me. Maybe all of you would like to be good guy. But a high karma wont protect you from a 12 gauge. If you wish to open a poll or explain the advantages and disadvantages go right ahead. This board is open for discussion.

Definatly going to be a raider for a while. Scoped crossbows be silent, also during the initial years people are going to be killing everyone. When in Rome.

Also, definatly going to try and establish order. I've got enough books to train a halfway decent guerilla army, which will be far more training than the average mob.

Are you sure you'd want to be alive after something like that?

Of course! Cause I'd be the freaking king! Come in, come in, have some fresh food and water and grab a gun!

I would try and find other like minded people and start up a settlement. I wouldn't want to be trying to hurt anyone or revelling in the violence, but would set up defences so we could protect ourselves and we would be ruthless to anyone who threatens us. The survival of the species would depend on people coming together and helping each other, as lame as that sounds. Different people will have different skills and they can only flourish in a group- what's the point in being a doctor, engineer or farmer if all you're doing is raiding and killing? Within a generation those skills will be lost and will be very difficult to get back.

As much as I love PA fiction I think that the survivors would be more likely to be boring average Joes who are just scared and confused rather than power crazed thugs. I'm sure there would be a few of them, too, but they will get what is coming to them and their numbers will drop off as they kill each other. In a world without medical care even just cutting your hand and getting an infection could kill you so I think playing it safe and establishing some kind of society is the only way for long term survival- it's those boring average Joes who have many of the skills we would need in a future society.

I would do my best to remain neutral. So that means I would ignore anyone asking for help (unless I could see there was something I might gain from helping that person).
As apposed to going 'raider', I don't think this way would attract much attention which is good.
I wouldn't want to start a settlement though. I'd much prefer to be more of a drifter.
Although I agree with you dannyb0y999, if it means survival, then I'd do it. That includes cannibolism.

I would be the guy that sits and only helps the ones he cares about, while only running raids when there is no other choice. i wouldn't be the Gandhi of the wastes but i wouldnt be the evil marauder

If you are going to make a mark in the world, do it with a damn good knife.

Part of me thinks I'm insane. The other part knows I'm insane, but chooses to ignore it.

I guess I would be a bit of a shadow really, I mostly avoid people anyways and I will have a bigger reason to do so after shtf. Though I way just a likely go around killing people that I see doing wrong.

The call to arms sounds across the land
heed its call
arm yourselves for times to come
and pray that it will be short

You can not invade mainland America. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.
