Amy and the Night of Blades and Stars

In the opening of The Night of Blades and Stars, it says "The girl herself was not a source but a conduit, a way for a certain feeling—a feeling of lost souls—to enter the minds of the most susceptible parties, and there were some, like Alicia, who would never be affected at all. This was not true of Sara Fisher and Peter Jaxon, who had experienced their own versions of the girl’s power. But in each case, their encounters had taken a more benign, if still troubling form: a moment of communion with their beloved dead.

First Captain Jimmy Molyneau, ... was trying to decide whether or not to go to the Lighthouse, kill whomever he found there, and turn the lights off."

So, it sounds like the fact that Amy was there directly led to some very unpleasant urges, and even more unpleasant effects.

Jimmy specifically said “They’re all so fucking sad.” before killing Soo, which points to an Amy vision rather than a Babcock one.

So in a way, is Amy responsible for what happened that night? If she hadn't come to the Colony, would it still have happened?

May the road gangs never meet you. May the wind be fallout-free. May the sun shine through the ashes, hot rain not fall on thee. And until we meet again, may no one hold your flesh in the palm of their hand.

Do we even know if Amy is good? We think she is, but are we being duped

[Don't read this part unless you've finished the entire book]
--she doesn't want Peter to be like her--so she destroys the anti viral--
she may not be what she seems especially as she matures.

That's an interesting thought. It would be a pretty my major twist if she turned out to be the bad guy, though I wouldn't put money down on that possibility.

I can't see Amy being the bad guy but you never know! I think she'll be the one who in the end, saves what's left of civilization.

Amy reminds me of how in "The Stand" good people went to see the old lady and bad people went to Vegas to be even more bad. It seems she brings out the real side of people...the person who they really are deep down. Maybe that is why she can relate to the Virals. Deep down they are still people and most were probably decent people. Which would explain why she can keep away some Virals (like in the mall) and not others (like when the Colonel dies when she appears).
So YES I think she caused it because she took always everyone's protective cover and the niceties went away. Sad people got suicidal, mean people murdered, while the nice good hearted people either escaped with Amy or got killed.
I did not see that coming!
