My money's on Demetrius. Seemingly dead characters have a way of cropping back up in this book after all. Also we never see his corpse.

I remember someone thinking it was Galen, since we never really see him die either. I'm going to pay closer attention when I get to that part.

Galen was clearly described as the viral that attacked Theo and Maus, then was shot and killed by "an unknown third party."

I think Demetrius is a fine guess, as it seems that the person who went into the barn initially may have been human. That doesn't really explain why he wouldn't stay for tea with his son and new grandson....

If it was another viral, it could have been Wolgast, sent to help protect Theo by Amy.

I like to think it was Theo and Peter's father. Somehow alive after all these years, still watching over his boys.

My thoughs are it was Theo and Peters father, as it was never confirmed he died, he just left the colony and it did say, when they got to the farm house it was like someone had just left.
