 Gas Prices
« Thread Started on May 5, 2010, 8:04pm »

Since oil and gas played a key part in the 2008 economic crisis, I thought it would be interesting to track gas prices. Sort of like a key indicator for the coming economic meltdown. So state your general vicinity and how much it is for a gallon of regular unleaded (87 octane):

Worcester, Massachusetts - $3.03 at the 7 Eleven

www.gasbuddy.com is a good help for getting low gas prices.

In korea here, there are just as many propane stations as gas stations, but it's by liter.

Also it's ironic that the OP posted from a place I used to be so familiar with.

From Central, MA Meat Shield?

Checked into the Super Stop&Shop gas station and the going price is 2.88 a gallon. With our card it's .05 off, with our points for shopping there I was able to get .20 off on my fill up this morning! So I ended up paying 2.63 a gallon this morning, .36 cheaper than the 7 Eleven which is now at 2.99!

Not even a full year later and crude is selling for $101.87 as of this minute. Many folks predicted that oil would rise to over $100 a barrel in 2011 and stay there. I filled up last night at the Stop & Shop and paid $3.28 per gallon with my $.05 cent discount which means they are retailing it for $3.33!

Now, Megaton lives in HI which is much more expensive ( more a year ago for him than it is for me now!)

How much is gas today Megaton?

Hey blighted, long time no see.
Mine goes all the way from 3.55$ to 3.99$. It's all really dumb I think, as California has oil.

Are you sure you'd want to be alive after something like that?

Of course! Cause I'd be the freaking king! Come in, come in, have some fresh food and water and grab a gun!

Hey King! Yes, took a break from the forums for a while. Been watching a lot of You Tube and reading a lot a PA books. Took some time to today to read through the posts today and and happy to be back.

On another note, sorry to hear about your gas prices, those are tough...

gas is 13kr a liter here. That is $2 a liter. 1 liter = 0.264172052 US gallons. So that is what, 5liter=1gallon. Hmm...yeah. Drive a Smart Car and not a gas guzzler:) Or, and this is just the ultimate, if you live in the city, use the power of the feet and legs and walk. Remember, Rule 1: Cardio: This one comes up in Zombieland and clearly makes a lot of sense. How many fat people do you see at the end of the world when it's zombies doing the ending? :) :P :P :P ;D ;D ;D

1 gallon = 3.7854118 liters, for you that would be $7.57/gallon. You can blame that on the petrodollar system (US/OPEC agreement). If it wasn't for that you wouldn't have to pay so much. Instead of digressing here I am going to start a new topic in Chatter.

Normal unleaded fuel is the same (or even more expensive) than super here, so I post the price for super fuel with 90 AON. (AON is what the USA counts octane in, apparently)
Germany:
1,509€ / l today.
-> 5,712€ / 1 u.s. gallon
-> 7,989$ / 1 u.s. gallon

Keep in mind that German fuel is heavily infested with taxes. Also, the government wanted to get E10 fuel into the market but nobody seemed to want it. The oil concerns then whined that they had supply shortages for E5 fuel (very funny) which might've raised the fuel price even more.
