I've uploaded a new track from the upcoming album!
I've got it on the ReverbNation and Facebook pages, in 192k. But, I'll let you guys download it in 320k.
The track is called "Travelling Song". It's an instrumental track, and serves as the album's closing track. The title says it all - envision driving down a long, empty highway through the wastelands. The track is more melodic and straightforward than the rest of the album. The rest of the album is still very much death metal. This track serves as ending the album in a nicer note, essentially.
Download and enjoy! As for the rest of the album - it's extremely close to being finished. All I need to do is record vocals, add a few more final touches, and mixing/mastering. I'll make updates regularly on the pages, and I'll post here as well for you guys.

Gave this a listen earlier and stopped it thirty seconds in. It just sounded like something that needed to be listened to while driving, so I put it on my Zune and went for a cruise.
The lowered pitch that took place at 0:38 and afterward was unexpected, but welcome. And the break off from the pattern at 2:14 was awesome! I really enjoyed listening to the song. It had the grittiness and dystopian feel that I've gotten from the other stuff of yours I've listened to, but it's more technical. Really like it, and I can't wait to see how the rest of the album turns out.

Thanks a lot, man! I wrote it with the image of cruising down the wasted highway in my mind, so I'm definitely pleased to hear that it's being enjoyed in that manner. Glad you like it!
The same production values will be heard on all the songs, for sure.
I'm very close to finishing the album; I just have to record vocals. This weekend I can't, because I'm recovering from oral surgery. But hopefully though the week or next weekend, I can get the vocals down. I can't wait to finish the album!

Any time, man. I've actually been starting to play guitar as of January, and while I'm nowhere near as good as you, I'd like to imagine I could work up to it. I'm assuming you own a B.C. Rich Beast judging by the avatar you've got; how much did that run you? I'm looking for something to replace this Squier Strat. And... I'm left-handed.

Indeed - I own three BC Rich guitars. A Platinum Beast (my main guitar), an NJ Series ST-III, and an NJ Series Ironbird that I'm in the middle of restoring. I love 'em! They play really well for me, and they sound great for the style of music I'm playing/recording.
If you have any questions on playing, hit me up dude. I've been playing for 11 years now, completely self-taught. I'm no virtuoso by any means, but I know my way around the fretboard pretty well, so let me know if you have any questions.
EDIT: Forgot to answer - the Beast cost me about $200 on eBay, but they're usually worth a good bit more at a music store. I got lucky on it. The ST-III, I paid $90 on eBay as well... a HUGE find. The guy selling it didn't know anything about it, except for the brand name. It was missing hardware and needed TLC, so I had a helluva time hunting down parts for it. But I got it up and running, and it's a great guitar.

Hey guys, I have a few updates for ya. It's been a little while since I've posted here, so my apologies. It's been busy around the Vhyle household, but good things are coming!
A few weeks ago, I made the decision to make Algarothsyum an all-instrumental project. Mainly because I feel the music and atmosphere speaks for itself, which is what I'm ultimately after. Adding vocals is simply a distraction and breaks up the overall soundscape and imagery. That, and I HATE writing lyrics.
But, even better - I'm finally done recording, mixing and mastering the album! It's going to be release on May 1st, and will be available online via Bandcamp. This is Algarothsyum's first full length album, and I've been very anxious to get to this moment. I've spent about 6 months recording it. I've put in A LOT of hard work, and now it's here. You guys will LOVE the music.
On the 1st, I'll come by and provide links for the album.

Hey guess what? The new album is out!
"Wastelander's Epoch" was released yesterday. This is Algarothsyum's first full-length album. It's 61 minutes of instrumental, atmospheric metal that - of course - depicts life and survival in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. I spent about 6 months total recording, arranging and mixing/mastering this album, and now all the hard work has paid off. I hope you guys enjoy listening to it as much as I have enjoyed creating it!
You can snag a digital copy of the album through Bandcamp. A mere $7 gets you the music and also a high-res wallpaper of the cover art. Go check it out!

Thanks man! Glad to hear you dig it. I'm hoping more people here listen to it and enjoy it, since this is a PA site. If I can get enough cash together, I plan on having physical copies pressed as well. Probably in a limited, numbered pressing. CD pressing definitely isn't cheap so it'll be a small batch, most likely.

By the way Megaton, I saw the post on Megaton.us about the album - awesome! I appreciate that. Bandcamp has a buzz tracker that tells me where people come from to hear the album, and I got a few hits so far from your post - thanks! It was a pleasant surprise.

Just gave your album a complete listen. My mind is blown! The tracks are all ten times heavier than were on your demo.
Awesome man! If you think it's heavy, wait until you hear the new material. In fact, here's one of the tracks that will be on the next release.
It's far from done though; this is just rhythm guitars and a drum track. I recorded it mainly as a tone test with my new amp, and it sounds excellent! Check it out:
