"Blind Fire" prequel to my Fallout Feature Film « Thread Started on Jun 2, 2011, 9:39pm »
Hey guys, this summer I'm directing/producing a fallout feature film. We start shooting in July and I'm looking for a tentative Fall release date.
In the meantime I released this prequel film to help promote it and try to attain some form of sponsorship.
Basically, the story follows a trio of bounty hunters trying to make their way in what's left in the world. In the prequel, we introduce one of the bounty hunters, Hayle on the job...If you have a second, take a look and let me know what you think any criticism is good criticism!

Hey - that's pretty well done. I would like to see a full-length feature. What's the subgun he's carrying? At first glance I thought it was a spectre, but it's not. I couldn't slowly advance the frames to get a good look. Good luck with it, and keep us informed.

I am thinking now that it's one of the Ingram-based subguns with rails SWD made. On the surface it doesn't look at all like a Mac11, but they really are. I'll try and find a pic - my ISP has been down since Tuesday! Finally on line again - truly the end of the world!

Not bad. Good pacing and style. What camera are you using? The one thing I noticed was the focus was a bit off sometimes. Be careful of that during the action packed sequences when the camera and actor are moving a lot. If you can, get someone to pull focus so the camera op can just worry about the composition. If you can't get that, get the camera op to practice on that before you shoot the full thing.

If you can get the vid to stop at 1:20, you can get a reasonably decent view of the profile. It's got the wrong pistolgrip for the Ingram and the magazine is ahead of the trigger. Considering that it's a Fallout movie and the guys made a prop StealthBoy device, I'd wager that they've either modified a realworld SMG or built their own to represent the 10mm SMG found in the game.
Fallout & Fallout 2: 10mm SMG Crappy resolution I know but it was the best I could find

Thanks!! I shot it on a Canon T2i with a 50mm f/1.8 Prime lens. At the time I only had two lenses an 18-55 f/3.5-5.6. So, I was stuck using the 50mm and I had to shoot wide open at 1.8 to compensate for the low light. This made pulling focus especially on the high movement scenes really hard, as you could tell. Plus it didn't help that I barely had any space and with 50 everything had to be shot really tight. Anyways, I went out and bought a 28mm f/1.8 wide angle and that's been perfect the kind of stuff like this film.

Hey, it's actually an Mp5k airsoft gun of all things. It's one of the cheapo ones you can buy at Dicks and it came with its own little rail system, light, laser, silencer, stock and a whole assortment of platic crap bolted onto it. Over the years most of it's been broken off the gun in such a way that it just happened to look like the 10MM Smg from fallout, so after a little flat black and some silver for weathering it looked perfect.
