Desperate For Something Decent

Does anybody have any suggestions for good survival/survival horror RPGs or similar that I could get my teeth into?

I've played the usual disappointing ones that are 'set' within post-apoc climes but have very little in the way of scavenging etc. within them (Fallout series, I'm looking at YOU!).

I've played:

Wasteland (DOS)
Fallout series (including New Vegas, what a disappointment)
Fort Zombie
Urban Dead (50 action points a day + limited functionality = tedium)

I can't find or think of any others. Any obscure ones I might have missed that have some fun in them?

In an ideal world, they'd make a post-apoc survival game based around finding and setting up your own base of operations and conducting scavenging and rescue missions along with encountering rival (and friendly) survivors and building a new civilization or at least upgrading your base etc.

Never. Gonna. Happen.

Fallen Earth is one on the pc.

could always try Dead Frontier, a online free to play Zombie MMO, one word of advice, firing shotguns can cause more zombies to appear

I forgot to include those three in my list of already played, sorry guys!

STALKER is a bit too mutation orientated for me (Zombies is about as far as I'd normally go with the exception of Fallout), I tried Fallen Earth and liked it but can't really afford the subscription fees and Dead Frontier held my interest for about a month before becoming very samey.

STALKER has pretty good sized fanbase, there are a bunch of mods for it. You might try it again with some of the mods as see if you like it then. It's a interesting game.

watch this for more new vegas quests/mods! It could tide you over while you wait for something. Like a ton of fixes needed for new vegas.

Metro 2033 is another possibility, it is an adventure driven story line, and it is quite good. I am currently enjoying it at the moment.
Counter-strike has a zombie mod, zombie panic which is mindless blowing away zmombies.

My Metro 2033 is all scratched up, last time I let someone borrow one of my games. Bastard wont even pay for a new one, says it was like that when he got it. In dont run over my games with bikes.

Is this the update for the 360? Or the pc and ps3's, the inferior races.
