I got it because it was post apocalyptic, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.

The call to arms sounds across the land
heed its call
arm yourselves for times to come
and pray that it will be short

You can not invade mainland America. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.

I took my time with it because I like to wander around and explore - still only took about 14 hours. Having played it to the finish, I can fully believe the claim that if you just follow the main story missions you can finish the game in around 5-6 hours

I did the same thing kevin, but there just isn't enough to explore. And there isn't really any places you can go without there being a quest. Also get on the chat, me and a couple people are on it now.

I thank y'all for posting about this game, I just got a brand new computer that can play pretty good games.

I'm glad now that I didn't take the effort and time in buying this game, really, really disappointed. I thought this game looked pretty good because of the PA feel, but to make a game that doesn't work on the PC very well, to make it another just linear COD/not well thought put into project. Let's just say, I'm better to be disappointed before hand then after spending my Christmas money on it.

I think I will end up getting S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

In those days....everything we once knew is gone, but the beauty of a broken world is still seen. Life has meaning....when every little thing we think is so dare to use fades away, and we for the first time again since ages that have passed...see our world in the view of a child.

The Scorchers dlc really helps flesh out the game, but it does still feel unfinished to me.

If I had my copy I would get the dlc, let someone borrow it and haven't heard from them since.

Ugh... I hate that. I loaned some PS1 games to a friend several years ago and the bastard pawned them for cigarette money. It's why I refuse to loan things out anymore.

Yes, I don't like loaning things either. I very rarely do it.

Brief update for the next reader:
Bethesda just released a DLC that brings the player back to the wasteland after the end of the final mission (think the Broken Steel DLC for Fallout 3) for some more racing, mutant bashing and so on. It also adds a new clan of bandits. It might just be speculation, but I'd argue that we could be looking at a couple more DLCs in the future...
