Anybody else playing Rage? I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, but I keep playing it so it can't be all bad.

Hmm, I wanted to borrow it cause I heard it's not really incredibly great. I guess I'm right with that?

Its your standard....I have a mission for you...run run run....I have a mission for you....run run run....type of game. Nothing new or inventive really. Lots of vehicle stuff, and vehicle customization stuff. I can tell you the PC version of the game is glitchy as f*ck. I have to say that overall I am pretty disappointed. I definitely would borrow or rent this one. I feel pretty sh*tty having just dropped $60 bucks on this when I could have gotten Gears or something else instead.

I think there could have been more to it, I hope to see dlc that extend the story.

From what I've seen, it looks like it's nothing more than a tech demo to promote ID's new game engine. With that in mind, I don't think they'd be concerned about any DLC.

RAGE by name, RAGE by nature for anyone trying to play this terribly buggy game on PC. I have managed to rack up a whopping 45 minutes of in-game RAGING, followed by hours of more RAGING at my PC while installing drivers and changing every kind of setting known to man.

The end result of this RAGINGLY good fun is this glorious landscape!

This usually entails me flying into an uncontrollable RAGE. and swearing that the game is the biggest pile of crap known to man, and that all of id's employees should be hung by their fingernails, and whipped within an inch of their lives.

Anyway. You could say I have a very high opinion of RAGE... And I reckon it deserve Game of the Millennium" for inducing fits of RAGE!!! :D

It was designed for the consoles, that's why it isn't all that on the pc.

Yeah I know about the DLC they have, I got one of the special editions for the 360 because I could buy it very cheap (here in Australia most 360 games retail for Aus$110, I got RAGE through a discount shop for Aus$70)

The DLC I have is a bunch of 'sewer missions' which actually add nothing to the story in the game, they just give you the chance for some minor looting and the sewers are just not long enough to keep you busy. The first sewer can be completed in about two minutes if you're stealthy and about 40 seconds if you 'run & gun'.

This is exactly why I do not believe that ID is actually concerned with adding DLC to enhance/extend the story. They'll probably add more DLC but it will be more of the same - a 2 minute segment of play that lets you kill a few things and loot a few bodies for a minor amount of gear/cash

As for the PC version, the problem is everything to do with the game engine. ID have made the game run at a constant 60 frames per second whereas most games run at a still healthy 30 FPS.
Because of the system demands of all the various computers, (i.e. graphics cards, RAM etc. etc.) the PC version has not been optimized fully. ID's main concern was making sure that they achieved a constant 60 FPS and not with making the PC version compatible across the range of PCs that people have.

There will be a RAGE 2 I think, no way the story is done.
