Anyone have PA dreams? « Thread Started on Jun 17, 2011, 5:46am »
I had another PA dream last night - haven't had one for years, but for some reason, they always involve floods and the ground shaking. Unable to stand up, then seeing the 'new coastline'. I don't want to freak you guys out, but I have had detailed dreams that have come true. I think there's a little psychic in everyone truthfully, we just don't listen to it.
I just became unemployed again which really sucks because I want to finish some preps, which costs money. I did load most of my .223 ammo into mags, and evaluated them - I have approx. 650 rnds in magazines right now, 500 of which are in mags I know to be dependable. I still have some 20 rounders I can load, and have about 400 rounds left in boxes, but feels good to know I have that ready. I need to headspace and sight in this new carbine upper to make sure it's GTG.
I think in case of a world-ending flood I'd head for the San Francisco Peaks, about 45 minutes from me. If the ground was shaking it would be a hell of a haul, but I'd want to at least get out of the canyon and on top of the Mogollon Rim - where I live now was an ancient sea.
On the positive side, the Hopi live where they do because it is safe according to them, from earth changes. I'm a ways from Second Mesa, but in a relatively safe area all in all. I need to find the USGI attachment I have to sling a rifle from a pack (old school VN thing - hardly ever used - you can find them on ebay sometimes) and see how well the Mosin Nagant M38 carbine works with it. For some reason this dream last night has me up at 3:00 am and thinking about reworking my BoB again.
tistine is a troll. No matter what you say, he will find a way to ridicule it. I encourage everyone to simply boycott him. Witness the responses I got from him. He's not worth the effort.

I have been taking out and putting things in my BoB. I have had dreams about the end of the world, but they are mostly waking dreams that I control somewhat. And it's mostly a Fallout style apocalypse that I dream about, with me in a desert of a wasteland wandering forever.

Quite a few over the years. Always pleased to wake up after those although I am usually rather impressed with how I cope given how rubbish I am at such stuff.

I had a zombie apocalypse dream where I led my family into the city where, for some reason, I knew of a turkey farm on the roof of a skyscraper. Renewable food source and easily closed off access points... no idea where the turkey farm thing came from.
I made the mistake of telling my wife. Haven't lived that one down yet.

I've had plenty of zombie dreams over the years, but no other PA subgenres that I know of. My girlfriend had a really crazy PA dream this week that involved total break down/anarchy and some sort of infection (more on the more realistic infection rather than zombie). I guess we've been been thinking about it too much for the webseries

The ball of fire falling from the sky; It impacts the ocean when the corn is high. Standing on the sandy beach; The falling rock so close you could reach. It strikes the ocean where the weather is warm; A place where many tourists swarm. Plenty of warning and time to hide; People dig shelters and place their family and friends inside. Gathered together holding hands; a barn in the Hoosier heartlands. Counting down the time to impact; Praying to the Lord for safety, forgiveness, and ....contact. Many people survive roaming the streets; Lawlessness within the cities of depletes. Far from the coast is where you need to be; miles away from the open sea.

One. I was with my friend, in a ruin city. I knew we had to move from where we were, for some form of bandits were coming for us. Instead, he whined - he didn't want to leave. As frustrated as I was, I knew I couldn't leave him, so I kept trying to persuade him to come with me. Eventually I just woke up.

I had a dream once where I was alone, except I had one of my older cats with me. She was my traveling companion. We were searching through the ruins and rubble of a destroyed train station, looking for anything and everything. I remember vividly that my cat was doing most of the scavenging, actually. And she was doing a great job, haha.
My wife was nowhere to be found in that dream, though. I don't know why.

It's obvious - your wife was the cat. No cat would act as a companion being the faithless, one-step-above-vermin creatures that they are. Now if it was a DOG you'd have a companion and who knows what happened to your wife.
Cats.... probably caused the apocalypse to begin with.

Well they need that radiation so they can mutate opposable thumbs. Then they can open their own damned tins of catfood and they'll never need us again!
P.S. I actually do like cats, I share a house with one human, one dog and three cats but --- until you've been surrounded (okay, okay, there's only three of them) by cats expecting to get your dinner after you've already fed them first, you don't know the true terror of being stalked by a pack of savage, unpredictable creatures! Mind you, the dog thinks she should get a fair share of my dinner too, she's probably commanding the cats!

Haha. I love cats; always have. Very interesting, unpredictable, intelligent creatures. With enough cats, they probably could intentionally invoke a nuclear holocaust. They have probably been scheming it for who knows how long now!

A physicist named Fred Allan Wolf hypothocised that lucid dreams where how we communicated with dimensional analoges of ourselves. Some of these dreams might be you talking to other versions of yourselves, at least the more plausible ones might be. I don't think a turkey farm on a skyscraper would be that plausible, in a city park maybe, but not on a skyscraper.

I've had a PA dream where the world ended in a nuclear war, and I was in the desert with some giant group of people who were in another war with some people not unlike the Enclave, except their soldiers were, literally, storm troopers from Star Wars.
