Right now I am reading The Old Man and the Wasteland by Nick Cole, which is pretty good.

I am listening to the new audiobook version of The Stand by Stephen King, read by Grover Gardner.

I just got into the Vampire Earth series by E.E. Knight - pretty well written if you ask me, and not cheesy the way the way James Axler's stuff is. Megaton gave me a pile of books when I was unemployed, am slowly working my way through them. Was pleasantly surprised to find that I like this series. It reads well. Still popcorn, but good popcorn.

tistine is a troll. No matter what you say, he will find a way to ridicule it. I encourage everyone to simply boycott him. Witness the responses I got from him. He's not worth the effort.

Glad to know someone's getting some enjoyment out of those books.

I think I read the first couple of that series, and liked them. I mean to go back and read the rest someday.

My kindle decided it didn't want to live anymore so it's killed itself. I had books I wanted to read to.

You haven't had it that long right? Call Amazon. I bet they replace it for you.

I think it has a virus.

A virus? Very unlikely.

If it has power, try holding the power button for 20 seconds, that will reset the device. Though you might lose your files?

I'm now about 45% through Finch by Jeff Vandermeer. This is a pulp style cop thriller, set in an alternate history city which has been captured by spore creatures that lived underground. It's a mix of sci-fi, fantasy and oddity.

That doesn't work, its been stuck on the screensaver for about a week now. I have drained the battery to try and get it to reset but the screen won't go away. It has acted up before so it's probably a virus like I said.

Have you tried plugging it into your PC to recharge? That will usually force the screen to change to the charging screen. Some people have had this work for them, others have tried the decharge/recharge and reset and have had mixed results.

I am reading right now the "First-Law" Trilogy of Joe Abercrombie, this is not really PA but its a damn good Fantasy Book. I can only recommend it, one of my favorite Books already.
But when you want something PA, I'm still going to school and in English we are reading books right now and we had to choose between some books. One of them I looked up on Wikipedia and it said it is PA, I immediately knew that is the one I'll read. It is called "The Hunger Games" of Suzanne Collins and it seems quite good so far. (I read the first 150 pages) It all plays in the post-apocalyptic America.
It is to be recommended. Pretty funny so far. ;)

Well that just plain sucks! You're in The US? Should be easy to get it replaced by Amazon I'd say.

The Hunger Games was an enjoyable little read. Obviously Z for Zacharia isn't on the curriculum anymore?

Finished Finch. I personally felt that Veniss Underground, Vandermeer's first novel was better. Though this was better realised as a story and also had an enormous amount of twists and turns.

After reading so much praise on here, and at other forums, I have decided to start reading the Wool Series. So far it is very good. Though I have only read a very small amount.

Today I picked up "The Survivors Guide" based on the Walking Dead graphic novels. It's a listing of all the characters in the books up till now. When they were introduced and how long they lasted. Also a novel called "The Rise of the Governor". Also based on a character in the Walking Dead graphic novels - but this book is not a comic. Both written by Robert Kirkland.

I wonder if the backstory given in Rise of the Governor will also apply to the character in the TV version.
