If you can ever find it (and it'll be as rare as rocking horse shit), there was a CD included in the special edition of the PA MMO Auto Assault.
The game is long dead now but the soundtrack was done by Richard Dekkard. There's some video clips around that include a few of the tracks from the soundtrack.
You might be able to get copies of it from here but you have to register (I haven't because I have the CD).

Also, one of my favourites in terms of the 'feel' of a PA or dystopian world is from a Belgian-based band called This Morn' Omina They're described as "Rhythmic Noise, Tribal, Industrial, Ambient" whatever the hell that all means but I like it so I don't argue ::)

One album titled 'Le Serpent Blanc - Le Serpent Rouge' has a couple of tracks that, for me, have a good PA/Dystopian vibe specifically, Suneater and Toltec

Yep. Good one to play right before the whole thing falls apart. Of course you would have to be a rather glib person, but I like it.

Also I've always liked the beginning of the television mini-series The Stand when the camera is moving through the government laboratory showing the dead staff and Don't Fear The Reaper by Blue Oyster cult is playing.

The mini-series is aging and the acting is wildly uneven, but that opening is still very effective. Even sixteen years later. In my opinion of course.

I have the Auto Assault soundtrack as well. It's a great soundtrack for visualizing anything in a post-apocalyptic future. And not only that, the game was great! I loved it. I was quite hooked on it during its tragically short life.

Who here likes death/black metal?

If you do, then you should check out my atmospheric black/death metal solo project, Algarothsyum. I released the first 5-track demo, entitled "Spiraling to Realization" back in March of this year.

Algarothsyum's whole theme is post-apocalyptic. The demo, and all future releases, will be telling an ongoing story of post-apocalyptic survival. The music itself is heavy, but also very dark and melancholic, portraying a strong wasteland atmosphere.

The Children of Men soundtrack and original score are both pretty good.
All though its not PA at all, There Will Be Blood has a really good soundtrack with a bleak wasteland feel to some of the songs. I have an album by Epic Score, a group that sells their soundtrack music for commercial use, which has some very cool tracks that could fit PA, some of which I hope to use in The Scout

I also like to listen to F-Minus, Mammoth Grinder or Mindless (very heavy hardcore punk/grind) or Edith Piaf.

I'd like to put a band like Combichrist on the list, it has this tribal-like, persussion-driven edge to it and something I could imagine getting played after The End (or beginning, depending on view).

If you guys like ambient music and stuff you should check out the Band "Lustmord". Especially one of the later albums is really nice i think, "the dark places of earth". It fits really good. But also the album "Metavoid" is really enjoyable.

1. I don't know anyone else on MOG except one of my mates and now you
and
2. I'm heavily interested in the Vietnam War era because my father served in Vietnam with the Australian Army and I was hearing a lot of the music from that time.
