 Improvised items
« Thread Started on Mar 19, 2011, 10:50pm »

While these pages show a number of ways to deal with a lack of technology, it's the collection of items that people have improvised from various bits & pieces that's of real interest to me. I thought it would be of general interest here and maybe useful as an illustration of the "outside the box" thinking that would be needed if the shit hits the fan in a big way.

There are other categories to explore on the site as well.

The call to arms sounds across the land
heed its call
arm yourselves for times to come
and pray that it will be short

Are you sure you'd want to be alive after something like that?

Of course! Cause I'd be the freaking king! Come in, come in, have some fresh food and water and grab a gun!

Convo between myself and my English teacher.

tistine is a troll. No matter what you say, he will find a way to ridicule it. I encourage everyone to simply boycott him. Witness the responses I got from him. He's not worth the effort.

A mini flame thrower made out of some waterproof matches and some hair spray cans. Tested by me and a buddy of mine works pretty will in a pinch whether lighting a cooking fire or lighting something/someone else.
Using a bucket and some plastic/or glass but plastic is better. Tilt the plastic at an angle over the bucket and pee in the bucket and let it sit out in the sun for a couple hours. And once condensation does it job and it trickles either use a pipe at the base of the plastic or just let it run off into another bucket you'll have a little bit of water.
Some very simple traps are easy to throw together with whatever you find think about it long enough and traps are very very easy to make.
Blades become dull and break easily after continual use. Blunt weapons inflict a good bit more damage and don't need to be sharpened not to mention you can make blunt weapons out of pretty much anything.
People are gonna fight me about the above comment and im here to tell you especially being a sword collector myself REAL swords are hard to come by and even real swords have a breaking point. More or less swords are only good for a while and most of the people who will argue this point either have never owned one and only go by what the see from hollywood... IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WELL. Point blank end of story.
