Looking for a good key chain size flashlight, that runs on AAA batteries preferably as opposed to weird watch batteries.
Multiple brightness settings to conserve power would be great too. What do you guys use?

I keep a Maglite solitare on my keychain. It takes one AAA battery, adjusts from spot to flood, has a spare bulb in the tail-cap and it's water, and shock resistant.

I picked it up on-sale for a little over 5 bucks at Wal-mart.

The maglite looks good, but only puts out 2 lumens. I'm looking for something for massive output in a tiny container.

You're going to need to look at some of the lithium battery powered models for long battery life but man oh man are you going to pay the dollars for that
Edit: While looking for a particular model of flashlight, the brand name which eludes me, I found the following article which could be of interest. The author talks about particular models in certain price ranges. However it doesn't specifically mention models small enough for a keychain Flashlight Link

You might check out the Smith & Wesson Galaxy Elite Led Flashlight. At 5.5 inches long, it's a bit bigger than "keychain size", but it does come with a removable pocket clip, wrist lanyard and a holster. The flashlight takes 2 AA batteries, and has an output of 100 lumens.

If you can afford it, I'd go for a Surefire. They aren't cheap, but they are bomber. I picked up an M961 weapons light (used on M4's) off the Arfcom EE for $65 shipped IIRC. They are more than just another flashlight - they take shock really well - better than a Maglite even. Check out used ones on ebay - lots of the M961's coming back from Iraq right now.

Pulled the trigger and ordered one and received it this morning. So far so good. I'm going to try and submerge it and see if it lives up to itself being waterproof.
Very happy with the size and it has a flat end so it can stand upright.
