Lost a good friend today RIP Taj
« Thread Started on Jun 11, 2012, 6:47pm »

Well, I had to put Taj down this morning after 16 years together. She's been in more states than most humans - travelled all over the country with me - was so smart, and sweet - everyone loved her, canine and human alike. I keep expecting to hear her slurping water in the kitchen. Dammit this sucks.

tistine is a troll. No matter what you say, he will find a way to ridicule it. I encourage everyone to simply boycott him. Witness the responses I got from him. He's not worth the effort.

Oh I'm so sorry... I lost a puppy last year too, she was almost two and she'd been, basically the reincarnation of my last dog, since she died of old age.

I really am sorry, It's terrible when a friend dies. But at least she died at a good, ripe age.

There's no greater feeling in the world than to watch as your creations grow and become mature. Anything from art, to vegetables, to children, it's the greatest feeling in the world to just stand back and have confidence when you say; "I made that."

We build closer bonds with our canine friends than we do with most humans. I love dogs, and yours looks like she was one I could have too. She died knowing that someone loved her for nearly two decades. I am truly sorry.

I'm so sorry to hear that, I love dogs and no matter how many come and go in my life it never gets easier, I agree with Blacksheep - the bond we have with them can be as strong if not stronger than with a lot of humans, for thousands of years they have been our companions for very good reason.

For a dog her size 16 is an extremely long life, and she looks very content in that picture - I have no doubt that she couldn't possibly have had a more deserving owner.

Sorry to hear that, Morg. We had to put Spottie to sleep a couple of months ago. She was 14 and absolutely was a member of the family. It does suck, but you'll always have the memories of your times together.

May the road gangs never meet you. May the wind be fallout-free. May the sun shine through the ashes, hot rain not fall on thee. And until we meet again, may no one hold your flesh in the palm of their hand.

Sorry morg, I remember all losing my dog's. I grew up with Taz and she was like a mother to me, she was a big beautiful dobbie. I still don't trust vets after what happened to her. Also remember the good times man.

The call to arms sounds across the land
heed its call
arm yourselves for times to come
and pray that it will be short

You can not invade mainland America. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.
